The Wants

The Wants blend of danceable grooves, anxious energy, and emotional yet enigmatic lyrics position them in a space between genres. Using deceptively simple components that combine and interlock like techno percussion, the quartet comprised of singer and guitarist Madison Velding-VanDam, drummer Jason Gates, singer and synth player Lydia Gammill, and bassist Heather Elle offer recordings that engage the clarity of club sound systems, the warmth of listening to vinyl, with familiar pop forms.
