Mozart: Overture, The Marriage of Figaro
Mozart: Clarinet concerto K622 (Soloist Alison Lambert)
Hans Gal: Serenade for Strings
Beethoven: Symphony No.2, op.36, D major
Mozart at his most soulful and Beethoven at his most joyful. Join the English Symphony Orchestra for a programme featuring Mozart’s effervescent Marriage of Figaro overture followed by his last major work, the radiant Clarinet Concert, performed by the ESO’s own principal clarinettist Alison Lambert. A sublime rarity, Hans Gál’s achingly romantic Serenade for Strings precedes Beethoven’s virtuosic, exuberant and humorous Second Symphony under the baton of Joe Davies, the ESO’s assistant conductor.
Also Appearing
Joe Davies, conductor, Alison Lambert, clarinet
