Salsa, Samba and Tango rhythms have always been a source of inspiration for Jazz musicians.
Steve Watermans’ passion and knowledge of these artforms will take us on journey through Latin America. An evening of rhythm and colour!
The concert will feature music from Cuba, Brazil and Argentina with pieces from composers Paquito D'Rivera, Astor Piazzolla, Antônio Carlos Jobin as well as Latin influenced pieces by jazz composers Horace Silver and Dizzy Gillespie and many others.
Steve Waterman is one of the top British jazz trumpet players both at home and on the international scene.
He is a professor of Jazz Trumpet at Trinity College of Music in London and visiting Jazz Trumpet specialist at The Royal Northern College Of Music and The Welsh College Of Music And Drama. He has conducted numerous Trumpet master classes and workshops ranging in size from small groups to big bands throughout the UK and in Spain, Finland, Latvia, South Africa, and Cuba.
