Paulie Boy Blues
Paulie Boy Blues at The Bear Club, Luton
About the show
We welcome the awesome blues guitar talent that is Paulie Boy Blues to The Bear Club for the first time. He brings the noise, the swagger and raw ability of someone carrying lightly the burden of blues rock tradition upon his shoulders.
Comparisons with Hendrix are plain and obvious but too easy. Yes he plays with some of his panache and experimentation but in doing so he finds his own style. He bridges the space between classic blues and contemporary noise rock with total authenticity summoning the spirit of the past but taking the music forward into the future with a huge sense of conviction.
Support is from local heroes Dois Padres who bring their own swampy blues-tinged rock sound back to The Bear Club for what should be one of the great blues nights of the summer.
Featuring - Paulie Boy Blues
Paulie Boy Blues is a blues/ rock guitarist and vocalist from Montgomery County, Maryland. His unique guitar style draws inspiration from an eclectic mix of genres, including traditional country blues, Texas blues, psychedelic rock, British rock, bluegrass, and more...
Paulie’s musical journey began to bud when one of his schoolteachers introduced him to the electrifying sounds of Jimi Hendrix, sending him home with bootleg recordings that eventually ignited his passion for the guitar.
Paulie's career took off in 2024 when Christone "Kingfish" Ingram invited him to sit in on stage. From that moment, Paulie hit the ground running. He began performing at a local riverside blues jam in his hometown, quickly progressing to club gigs all over Maryland. His talent and drive eventually took him across the pond to Scotland… and then England where he branched out into the vibrant UK blues scene.
Dois Padres
Formed in 2017, Dois Padres are a two piece blues tinged rock outfit consisting of Danny Young (guitar & vocals) and George Cowan (drums).
