About the show
85 years after its world première in Los Angeles, the Arcadia Quartet offers listeners the chance to compare Britten’s First String Quartet with the piece that heads Beethoven’s first set of string quartets. Both works reveal the creative audacity of their young composers. Lauded with five-star reviews for its unfolding series of the quartets of Mieczysław Weinberg, the Arcadia brings its own brand of fearless artistry to these enthralling compositions.
