About the show
Roger Eno will be returning to London to showcase his Deutsche Grammophon trilogy of albums off the back of his most recent, ’Without Wind, Without Air’ on Thursday the 21st of May at Union Chapel.
This is the first time he has played the UK since 2024’s sold out performance at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. Released late last year, ’Without Wind, Without Air’ comprises of solo piano pieces and tracks orchestrated for various combinations of clarinet, guitar, bass, strings, synths, percussion and electronics.
Interpreting these tracks for live audiences, Roger will be accompanied by his daughter Cecily on vocals and Alexander Glückmann on reeds, who have both appeared on all three albums. Roger’s atmospheric photography, a feature of his live shows, will once again lend to a cinematic experience. ‘Without Wind, Without Air’ ponders on the transience of life, and as a result the music’s stirring nature has been roundly lauded as Eno's most striking work to date.
Featuring
Roger Eno
Celebrated ambient musician, Roger Eno, is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound artist who cannot be easily categorised. He is hard to pin down and slippery as a fish, yet creates lush, emotive soundscapes which quite easily swallow you whole. His distinctive style as a recording artist has attracted a cult following and in March 2020, just as the pandemic lockdown commenced, he made his debut on Deutsche Grammophon with Mixing Colours, his first duo album with his brother, Brian.
