The Downstairs Living Room: Rebecka Edlund’s Songs for Harmonium

Rebecka is a London-based Swedish singer, lyricist and composer with a soft spot for the ocean, anecdotes and rusty orange. Her music is a concoction of jazz and Scandinavian folk music, whale song, bird whistles and other beautiful, peculiar sounds. Rebecka explores freely improvised storytelling, contemporary songwriting, and composing for unconventional lineups.

Equally at home in a traditional session as he is in a free improvisation workshop, Spafford's understanding of the oral tradition and love for vernacular music from around the world enables an inventive and thoughtful fiddle style.
