About the show
Joni Mitchell is a cornerstone in the musical lives of Rebecka Edlund and Immy Churchill. These two singer-songwriters connected over their love of albums such as 'Blue' and 'Hejira' and have immersed themselves in this music over the last decade. For the 2026 London Jazz Festival, the curators of The Downstairs Living Room warmly invite you to an evening of Joni Mitchell classics, paired with their own original songs.
For lovers of "A Case of You", "Coyote" and "Amelia" this will be a night of nostalgia and stories; shared through two voices, two guitars and a harmonium.
Featuring - Rebecka Edlund
Rebecka is a London-based Swedish singer, lyricist and composer with a soft spot for the ocean, anecdotes and rusty orange. Her music is a concoction of jazz and Scandinavian folk music, whale song, bird whistles and other beautiful, peculiar sounds. Rebecka explores freely improvised storytelling, contemporary songwriting, and composing for unconventional lineups.
Immy Churchill
Daughter of Pete Churchill (Professor of Jazz Composition at the Royal Academy of Music) and Nikki Iles (internationally renowned pianist/composer), Immy is a leading light in her father’s celebrated London Vocal Project and a rising star on the vocal jazz scene.
