About the show

A fun way to celebrate Easter Day! Not the famous Gil Evans album, but our own versions of jazz standards and great tunes in original arrangements by members of the band past and present. Featuring music ranging for from Joe Sample’s soulful One Day I’ll Fly Away and Billy Cobham’s funky Crosswind, through swinging tunes by Charles Mingus and Wayne Shorter, to Elgar’s Nimrod - written by Stan Sulzmann, Pete Hurt, Miguel Gorodi, Noel Langley, director Scott Stroman, and more.

Featuring

London Jazz Orchestra

Directed by Scott Stroman, the LJO is “as fine a band as you can find anywhere” (Independent), and these up-close-and-personal sessions showcase great writing and soloing from a band that includes many of London’s top musicians, as well as new talents
