Steve Gribbin

Steve Gribbin appearing at this event
'The vertically-challenged Scouser with a guitar, savage lyrics and a voice that will break your heart (if not your crockery); topical, incisive, witty and bloody-minded.' (Glee) His original comedy songs combine razor sharp lyrics with tunes that put their foot in the door of your mind and refuse to leave. Firmly based in rock 'n' roll and refusing to pull no punches, these are not the 'oh so witty' ditties of penguin-suited plink plonk piano playing posh gobs. They are that rarity - comedy songs which are actually funny. For nine years Steve was the smaller one in the dynamic comedy duo Skint Video, stalwart's of the Edinburgh Festival, appearing on countless television programmes such as Saturday Live, radio such as The Mary Whitehouse Experience, and their own show in 1992/3 Songlines (BBC Radio 1). Skint Video went their different ways in 1993, since when Steve has been storming across the UK and Ireland as a solo artiste. "A highly refreshing and original comic” (The Scotsman). “Satirical songs pulled off with real aplomb” (The Independent).

Pierre Hollins

Pierre Hollins appearing at this event
A veteran of the comedy circuit and a regular at Jongleurs and The Comedy Store, described variously as 'far-fetched and semi-dangerous' and 'silly and daft'. Watch out for his bizarre mixture of stand up and song, including his one string electric squash racquet! His 'songs' are jokes that rhyme, set to a guitar backbeat and cover topics from love and hate, to sex and politics. With a totally original voice he delivers his material with charm and irrelevance. '... the amiable Pierre Hollins with his compelling chatty style and absurd guitar posturing... With a totally original voice he delivers his material with charm and irrelevance...' (Funhouse Comedy).

Andy Stedman

Andy Stedman appearing at this event
Andy is a cheeky, likeable comedian who cleverly mixes songs, jokes and audience interaction to great effect. He gigs all over the UK on professional bills and is quickly getting a name for himself on the circuit as a bankable act and MC. Prior to his comedy career Andy was a mildly successful singer/songwriter - Uncut magazine once said he had a "voice sure to melt hearts!" In 2018 Andy was honoured to be asked to be the opening act for Bobby Davro on his theatre tour. "As well as being one of the nicest, most considerate acts on the circuit Andy Stedman is a fine comedian. Whether he's the compere or headliner he always delivers funny routines without resorting to offensive language or material, which in this day and age is a refreshing quality to possess. First class in my book." - Bobby Davro '... the musical Andy Stedman and his wonderful mix of real life songs and storytelling...' - Funhouse Comedy 'Stedman displays real talent in playing to his audience... his songs are genuinely funny.' - Broadway Baby 'Andy is a real master of the stage and damned good at what he does.' - Mumble Comedy

Mark Maier

Mark Maier appearing at this event
Top comedian who, apart from his regular spots at The Improv and The Comedy Store, has performed all over the world. In 1996 he took his critically acclaimed one-man show, Get Off With Mark Maier, to Edinburgh where it garnered much further praise. This multi-talented comedian has a remarkable talent for accents. 'It's high time someone gave him a TV show of his own!' (The Guardian). "Blessed with killer timing" (Metro).
