About the show
Champion Trees, formed in Cape Town by cousins Francis Christie and Lex Pienaar alongside drummer Langa Dubazana, bring their genre-blending indie sound to London. Inspired by bands like Belle & Sebastian and Pavement, the group has evolved from the lean production of their debut album NOW 3000 into the rich and expansive arrangements of their latest release, A Duck’s Water Off My Back. Opening the night is indie folk singer-songwriter Liv Wright, whose intimate melodies and poetic songwriting have earned her a distinctive place in the contemporary indie scene.
