The Montague Arms, London Events
Pub & live music venue. "The Best Pub in the Country" -The London Paper. Voted Number One Boozer by The Rough Pub Guide. An idiosyncratic gem, stuck out on a bend of the main road between Peckham and Europe, the Montague has by tradition attracted coach loads of tourists bound for Dover. Somewhere in the attics of neat homes across Holland must be snaps of this weird English pub, with its zebra heads and maritime knick-knacks. On Sundays, when medieval hulks of meat are slavered in gravy and served to the compact row of dining tables, you can't move. Regular gigs bring a fresh crowd from Camberwell or Goldsmiths College. The old fashioned atmosphere and a good section of ales brings older regulars.
