About the show

KDN are back at their spiritual home, The Jago, for their first live gig in years.
Saturday 23rd May: come be the first to hear their blazing new album Moving Fire played live in full, months ahead of release. You'll hear tried and tested crowd favourites and blazing new tracks no one - including the band - has ever heard live on stage.
Led by Congolese bassist Mulele Matondo, king of crowd participation, and co-founded with British jazz guitarist John Kelly, KDN fuses African roots with UK jazz. Will Scott and Mike Soper on soul-rousing horns, Mbouta Kissangwa on drums and Yves Tasinda on rhythm guitar lock in the driving grooves. Africa's finest dance music styles, revived, urbanised and fused with a spicy sprinkle of jazz, this is Afro-Joyful Kongo Jazz - straight up ass-shaking music.
Their last album 360° was "a euphoric joy" (MOJO ★★★★), "an untrammelled party sound" (The Arts Desk), and "will enrich your life" (Listen With Monger).
The live word is even stronger:
"Totally authentic - sophistication, energy, musicianship, and sheer life-affirming spiritual uplift!"-Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
"Incredible musicianship" -Cerys Matthews, BBC 6 Music
"The tightest band in the country... wherever they go they bring a raucously joyful party." -Max Reinhardt, Soho Radio
"Absolutely one of the most exciting bands on the planet right now" -Dr Neil March, Trust The Doc
Limited early bird tickets available — don't snooze.
