Parisian five-piece Syd Matters was voted "best newcomer of 2003" by the readers of the French magazine "Les Inrockuptibles". There's been nothing forced about Syd Matters' ascent in France, where they're now admired by figures as significant as Dominique A and Yann Tiersen.
