A Naarm/Melbourne-raised, UK-based trumpeter, vocalist, producer and composer, Audrey Powne is widely celebrated for her fearless creativity and genre-blurring sound. Described by Gilles Peterson as “The very brilliant Audrey Powne,” she moves effortlessly between future jazz, soul, R&B, cinematic soundscapes and free improvisation, all underpinned by exceptional musicianship and emotional depth.

Audrey’s critically acclaimed debut album From the Fire (BBE Records) cemented her as a powerful creative force, earning praise from BBC Radio 6, Radio 2, Jazz FM, DownBeat, Earmilk and Bandcamp Daily. The project saw her take full creative control — writing, producing, arranging strings and performing across trumpet, keys and vocals - resulting in a deeply personal and sonically rich body of work.

At Soul Mama, Audrey performs with a quartet, featuring Audrey on trumpet, keys and vocals, alongside drums, bass and piano. Expect soulful grooves, exploratory improvisation and moments of raw intimacy, delivered with warmth, precision and fearless expression.
