About the show
Order is everywhere. We learn to trim ourselves into shapes that appear perfect, decent and acceptable to the world. Yet repressed instincts, hidden shame and impulses outside the mainstream do not disappear; they grow quietly in the unconscious until they tear through the invisible skin that has contained them.
Inspired by the Startled Dream chapter of The Peony Pavilion, THRESHOLD externalises this silent internal war through physical force, motion-capture technology and shifting lines of light. As breath and entangled bodies meet, audiences enter a private psychological maze and face one question: can we embrace the broken, disordered, living self?
