Monica Hsueh (pronounced ‘Shay’) is an award?nominated comedian, writer, and actor known for sharp wit and fearless storytelling.

Moving from Taiwan to the UK at 13, she discovered laughter as the bridge between cultures - a discovery that evolved from an open?mic dare into a dynamic stage presence defined by bold bravado, self?deprecation, and witty jokes.

Monica has performed at top venues across the UK, from The Bill Murray Angel to The Comedy Store, and her viral Strong Woman sketch series has amassed MILLIONS OF VIEWS ONLINE. A finalist in British Comedian of the Year, Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian and semi-finalist at BBC New Comedy Awards 2025, she also appears in Netflix, AppleTV, Disney+ and cinema productions, and champions diverse voices in comedy.

Her London solo debut - an honest, hilarious journey through identity, belonging, and becoming a strong woman - has been extended twice since July 2025 due to demand.

Monica Hsueh (pronounced "shay") is an award-nominated comedian, writer, and actor, bringing sharp wit and an unflappable persona to stages across the UK.

Monica moved from Taiwan to the UK at 13 and soon realised that laughter was the key to bridging cultures and connecting with people. What began as an open-mic dare has evolved into a dynamic stage presence, defined by bold bravado, self-deprecation, razor-sharp jokes and an infectious curiosity about multicultural life.

She has performed at top venues across the country, including Backyard Comedy Club, Angel Comedy Club, The Glee Club, Komedia Brighton, and even guest-spotted at The Comedy Store.

Online, her Strong Woman sketch series has amassed over 10 million views, brilliantly satirising everything from sibling battles to the universal love of chicken balls.

In 2024, Monica reached the finals of multiple prestigious comedy competitions, including British Comedian of the Year, Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year, Bath Comedy Festival New Act, and Chichester Fringe New Act.

Beyond the stage, she has taken supporting roles in Guy Ritchie's Mob Land and Netflix’s Black Dove. She frequently speaks on panels championing the importance of diverse voices in comedy.
