About the show
The Vestry Sessions return to St Mary's Church, Walthamstow, for their tenth iteration - double digits, baby!
Expect a night of dance, live music, and food, with El Chamuyo Quartet performing some world famous, tangos, as well as more obscure, and original tangos. There'll be a dance performance and, in the second half, we'll open up the dance floor for a summer Milonga.
Don't feel like dancing? Fret not: there will be ample seating in front of the stage for those who want to sit, sip, and listen.
Featuring - El Chamuyo Quartet
The El Chamuyo Quartet is a London based group performing a wide sweep of Argentinian tango music, ranging from golden era of the 1920s and '30s, through to the tango nuevo masterpieces of Piazzolla as well as original music.
While respecting the tradition, El Chamuyo also takes this repertoire as a starting point for improvisation, blurring the boundaries between tango and jazz in exciting and innovative ways.
