Club Precious has rapidly established a reputation as a must-see attraction on the London indie scene. Club Precious #6 is an album launch show for Cult Figures, those chroniclers of modern madness who are releasing their fourth LP 'Reports of People' in April on Precious Recordings of London.
Expect to hear plenty of songs from this fantastic new release – a melody map from pop to punk and back again – plus some old favourites. Maybe even ‘Zip Nolan’, their classic dating back to their origins on Swell Maps’ Rather Records in the late 1970s. You never know.
Support comes from indie pop melody masters Silver Biplanes, featuring the husband-and-wife team of Tim and Vanessa Vass – formerly of Razorcuts and Melons respectively. Their four-track EP ‘Coming Up for Air’ was recently released on Precious and WIAIWYA.
Also on the bill are dreamy Brighton-based duo Dreamcoaster, whose sound has distinct of Slowdive, Lush and a hint of C86 jangle. They’ve just released their third album ‘Imaginary Reflections’ on Shelflife and Duck Race Records to critical acclaim – “fabulous, so warm and catchy,” suggested BBC Radio 6 Music.

Cult Figures
Following a 30 year hiatus, original Midlands 80s post-punks, Cult Figures, returned in 2023 with third album Between Us And Heaven, comprising twelve tracks that illustrate the seismic changes both within the band and the world at large since 2021’s critically acclaimed Deritend.
The album sees original guitarist Jon Hodgson, bassist Lee McFadden and drummer Stuart Hilton joined by new members Fraser Gillespie (lead vocals) and Steve May (guitar), as well as contributions from co-founding singer Gary Jones, who tragically lost his life in 2022, and to whose memory the album is dedicated.
