With one of the most distinctive and most melodious voices and original singing styles of the post Rafi era, Udit has become an integral part of the Bollywood film industry. Udit's first taste of success came in 1989 with the release of Papa Kahte Hain from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, which became a teen anthem and earned him his first Filmfare Award in 1989.
