matsuri 26

Japan is bringing the first ever edition of the 'matsuri’ showcase to London for its European debut. Celebrating the diversity and creativity of Japanese music, the event will take place at Outernet Live on 14 December, bringing together a colourful, all-female line-up.

The event comes amid a boom in Japanese music's popularity in the UK, with six Japanese artists having performed or announced shows at London's O2 Arena in the past two years alone. It also reflects a wider push to bring Japanese music to international audiences, fuelled by streaming, the popularity of anime and growing interest in Japanese culture.
