G Flip

Melbourne singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist G Flip, born Georgia Flipo, fell in love with the drums as a kid and travelled the US as a touring drummer in their early 20s. Never one to sit still, Georgia then locked themself in their bedroom studio for all of 2017 and taught themself how to write and produce their own songs.

While incubating their new project, Georgia created a round LCD screen for the front of their hand-made kick drum which can display any imagery, video or content that Georgia can dream up. This is Je Ro Mo, G Flip’s animated 'talking drum kit' – named for Jenny Rose Morrish, Georgia's late drum teacher.

Their self-produced debut single ‘About You’ was an addictive, bittersweet shard of shimmering pop, inspired by their 'hectic, toxic, cinematic' on-off relationship. It built from a dreamy murmur into a cathartic tumble of layered synths and syllables, with their clean, spacious drumming taking front and centre. It was the very first track Georgia pieced together, recorded in a day in their bedroom studio into 'a sh*tty mic from Cash Converters'.
