Music Network continues its 40th anniversary celebrations with a dynamic new collaboration featuring four of Ireland’s most outstanding traditional musicians.

Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh: voice, flute

Pauline Scanlon: voice

Join us to explore songs and tunes that celebrate the beauty, depth and spirit of Irish music.

This sensational new ensemble unites the phenomenal voices of Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh and Pauline Scanlon, two of Ireland’s most striking interpreters of traditional and contemporary song. Their seamless vocal blend, rich, emotive and deeply rooted in the tradition, promises to create moments of pure magic.

Joining them are Tom Morrow, Dervish’s distinguished fiddle player, whose effortless style and artistry have graced stages worldwide, and acclaimed guitarist, singer and songwriter John Doyle, renowned for his dynamic musicianship and creative flair.

Together they will weave new interpretations with time-honoured tradition in an evening of exquisite harmonies, fiery instrumentals and musical storytelling at its finest.

Hailing from Dingle, West Kerry, Pauline is one half of celebrated singing duo Lumiere, a project which has seen her perform throughout the world in recent years including a performance in Carnegie Hall in 2014.

This vocalist and songwriter galvanised the Irish music scene with her stunning debut album, Red Colour Sun. Coming from the Irish tradition yet equally versed in World and Contemporary music realms, Scanlon is capable of making the oldest ballads sound immediate and fresh while granting newer material a timeless resonance.

John Doyle

John Doyle appearing at this event

John Doyle’s gifts as guitarist, songwriter and vocalist have played an essential role in the ongoing renaissance of Irish traditional music. Now living in the states, John was the recent musical director for Joan Baez and toured with her for 2 years. One half of the stellar duo Liz Carroll and John Doyle, he is also a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Irish group Solas.
