Consisting of ground-breaking producer, NK-OK and the formidable multi-instrumentalist, Mr. DM, Blue Lab Beats is one of the fastest-rising production duos in the world right now.

The pair seamlessly fuse Jazz, Hip-hop, Afrobeats, Soul and Electronica genres whilst representing a talented generation of musicians coming out of the United Kingdom. The young friends started out as bedroom producers, remixing tracks from A-listers such as Dua Lipa and Rag’N’Bone Man.

Fully immersed in their art, they grew into something far more potent - crafting a supple, wide-ranging sound inspired?by pioneers of Jazz and Hip-hop, and the music of the African diaspora while staying true to their London roots.

With hooks that nod to the late J Dilla and to Robert Glasper, as well as wide ranging influences such as Mad Lib, Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Knxwledge, Milt Jackson, Ahmad Jamal, Oscar Peterson and Tribe called Quest, not to mention London’s booming young jazz, hip-hop and neo-soul-steeped underground, jazz hip-hop duo Blue Lab Beats are making serious waves on the London scene. The brainchild of NK-OK and multi-instrumentalist Mr D.M. these guys are the engine room behind many of the freshest new acts - Age Of Luna, Ruby Francis, Louis VI and also remixers for Jodie Abacus, Dua Lipa, and Rag'n'Bone man to name a few. K- OK's production journey started with Grime. He learnt to programme at age 12 against a background of UK Grime - Kano, Ghetts, Wiley, Wretch 32, all played a huge part in his musical upbringing - the Jazz coming later. It's this musical mish mash of Mr DM's music instrument wizardry and NK-OK ‘s bottom end / programming and studio know-how that gives Blue Lab Beats the edge whilst paying full respect to the jazz art form.
