El Chamuyo Quartet
The El Chamuyo Quartet is a London based group performing a wide sweep of Argentinian tango music, ranging from golden era of the 1920s and '30s, through to the tango nuevo masterpieces of Piazzolla as well as original music. While respecting the tradition, El Chamuyo also takes this repertoire as a starting point for improvisation, blurring the boundaries between tango and jazz in exciting and innovative ways.
