Jump 66 "Summer Swing & Jump Blues Special" at George IV, London
About the show
Over a decade playing full houses around the UK kick-started a journey that’s taken Jump 66 all the way to the Glastonbury Festival. With their own unique mix of retro Rhythm & Blues laced with Swing, Soul and Ska, the band is a lively 6-piece band with swinging double bass, soaring sax, swirling keys and ‘old skool’ blues guitar. They’ve polished their act on the London club circuit, and at festivals across the country, being regulars at Ealing Blues, Richmond Riverside and The Isle Of Wight Blues Festival and of course the legendary Glastonbury with this year’s schedule looking busier than ever.
With CVs that list The Commitments, The Cadillac Kings, The Jive Aces and swing legends Oo Bop Sh’Bam, the band boasts some of London’s most in-demand jazz and blues musicians. With their charismatic front man Paul Kissaun (ex-Flying Pickets) and keyboardist Pete Saunders (ex- Dexy's Midnight Runners) you can expect to hear swinging interpretations of little-known gems by Count Basie, Charlie Rich, Eddie ‘Cleanhead’ Vinson and Memphis Slim, alongside exhilarating originals from their latest album, “Every Dog Has Their Day” that bear comparison with the James Hunter Band and French swing legend Nico Duportal.
