About the show
Dubbed one of the most exciting acts on the UK global music scene, Tashkezar blend psych guitar with funk-driven basslines, Balkan sax, anthemic synth and euphoric Arabic vocals to create Baladi Funk. Their cosmic fusion of vintage Egyptian Pop, Anatolian Rock, Balkan, Funk, Electro-Pop, and Afrobeat makes for an electrifying, deeply danceable sound.
Mariam Ali's lyrics process personal and political upheavals with wordplay and wry humour, urging us to turn disillusionment into hope. Tashkezar's wild, high-energy sets whip dancefloors into a frenzy, fast gaining them a cult following. Be part of this unforgettable experience!
