The mastermind behind the Havana Meets Kingston project Mista Savona brings the full power of bass culture to Lewisham, supported by Tropical Tea Party's DJ Hiphoppapotamus and Feline.
Havana Meets Kingston's sound system show sprang from a trip to Cuba in 2014 for a musical meeting of the two islands. Mista Savona invited his favourite musical collaborators from Jamaica to fly with him into Cuba in 2015, and in 2017 the first 'Havana Meets Kingston' album was released to widespread critical acclaim. The project features giants of the two musical scenes - Sly & Robbie, members of Buena Vista Social Club, Los Van Van, Irakere, Ernest Ranglin & many more greats.
This show features Savona himself behind the decks, accompanied by live instrumentation which promises to channel the creative flair of the original album.

Mista Savona is an Australian reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop producer, keyboardist, and DJ based in Melbourne. He is best known as Australia’s leading roots reggae and dancehall exponent and the mastermind behind the cross-cultural project Havana Meets Kingston.
