About the show

Immy Churchill is a jazz vocalist and singer-songwriter acclaimed as one of London’s ‘rising stars’. As a CMF 2025 Artist and finalist in the Tina May Young Jazz Musician Competition, she is no stranger to performing, with a vast experience of touring in the UK and Europe. She has developed a unique approach to improvised singing, and her inspirations range from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra to Joni Mitchell and Norma Winstone.

Immy has been heavily influenced by the incredible musicians she has been lucky enough to work with, in particular as a member of The London Vocal Project. These include Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler and Dave Holland. In other projects Immy has also performed at notable venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Pizza Express, The Royal Albert Hall, Kings Place and The Royal Festival Hall. Immy has recently joined the elite pool of vocalists performing with Hejira: celebrating the music of Joni Mitchell.

“Each time I have heard Churchill sing, I have noted not just her ability to impress, by bringing understanding and a sense of music clarity to complex vocal lines, but also to affect an audience emotionally, to draw in our attention and to give memorable performances which stay in the mind.” London Jazz News
