About the show
Multi-award winning standup comic tells the story of how this year's Ashes series changed his life and he’s recaptured the happiness of running down a hill at 6 years old shouting Weeee! A story of love, loss and Travis Head’s moustache.
★★★★ 'A master of the genre' One4Review
★★★★ 'Star in waiting. He is untouchable' The Times
Last Christmas Day, Nathan Cassidy is alone in a basement, feverish and half-drunk, watching England getting destroyed in the Ashes. But as the Ashes slips further out of reach, something strange begins to happen... The Australian team appear, one by one, to guide Nathan on a surreal journey of survival, redemption and hope. Can a tortured artist – like Van Gogh with a mic - rediscover the happiness of being 6 years old? Can comedy be more than throwaway clips, can comedy be art?
From the award-winning star of 25 solo shows, From The Ashes is a hilarious and heart-opening journey through cricket, collapse, and the strange magic of Christmas. And, like all the best stories, like the ones his grandad used to tell him as a kid, this one might only be half true too.
13 Best Show wins/nominations in UK Comedy Festivals since 2019. European tour 2025. Star of 3 Amazon Prime specials, BBC Radio 5 Live, Times Radio and million downloaded podcast Daily Notes.
Work in Progress.
