About the show

Robyn's Rocket returns to Cafe OTO after our visit to The Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room, with another great line up:

This event will also be live-streamed.

Robyn's Rocket is an inclusive-conscious gig series captained by Robyn Rocket, a disabled/ Autistic space trumpet player and visual artist. We try to make a welcoming space for as many people as possible, as we recognise that many people – not just disabled people – can experience barriers to going to live gigs.

We programme artists with and without Learning Disabilities / Autistic and Non-Autistic artists as equals, and create an environment that hopefully encourages communication. We also lend out ear defenders and sunglasses, and can provide reusable ear plugs you can take home. We recognise people should be able to tic/stim and do the things they need to feel comfortable. But we ask where possible people do not chat while artists are performing, because it can make it difficult for people who are hard of hearing to follow what is going on. If you do need to talk during the performances, we don't want this to make you feel uncomfortable. We don't have music on in the breaks, so people can hear each other. But for the last five minutes, we play gentle space loops as an audible signal that the break is coming to an end.

We also have a talking timetable, a crew who are here to try and help you, and a system to help you give feedback, which we will respond to. You can find out more about us at www.robynsrocket.com
