Louis Koller

Louis Koller, began playing piano at a very young age and took up the trombone at six. Inspired by Charlie Parker and Fats Navarro, he quickly developed a remarkable fluency in the bebop language on both valve and slide trombone. Aged eight, he earned a place at the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy. At 12, Louis became the youngest person ever to reach the semi-final of the BBC Young Jazz Musician competition. His early mentors included Byron Wallen and Tony Kofi, with whom he continues to perform from time to time.
