As more and more Black Comedians find major success on our television screens, we pay homage to those who paved the way and opened the doors for Black Comedy in the UK with the Pioneers Of Comedy. We celebrate black excellence by bringing you a massive superstar line up of Award winning stand-up comedians, television & radio presenters and actors.

Richard Blackwood

Considered by some to be the UK's answer to Will Smith, TV presenter, comedian, pop star/rapper, actor and radio DJ Richard Blackwood has many strings to his bow. As a rapper and singer, Richard had a no.3 hit single in 2000 with his cover of Junior's 'Mama Used To Say' (who happens to be Richard's uncle!), reworked as 'Mama Who Da Man'. Nowadays you will mostly find Richard on the stand-up circuit.

Appealing to all ages, genders and nationalities, Danny 'Slim' Gray has the ability to capture different aspects of everyday life and twist it into his own brand of comedy.

Rudi Lickwood

The Harlesden 'ruude bwoy' of Comedy, his charming, cocky style enables him to perform comedy whilst sporting a moustache. As one of the busiest and most sought after acts on the UK comedy circuit, Rudi regularly headlines all the major comedy clubs using his sense of humour and razor sharp material to appeal to all audiences.
