Karl Jenkins is widely recognised as one of the world's most popular and widely performed composers. Classically trained, but drawing on a diverse range of global influences, Jenkins’ composing style pushes musical boundaries. In addition to his highly successful ‘Adiemus’ albums, which have sold over three million copies in 50 countries, his music has spanned many genres, from ballet and symphonic music to BAFTA-award-winning soundtracks and Montreux Festival-winning jazz.
He was knighted in 2015 for his contribution to music.
London Concert Orchestra
The London Concert Orchestra was founded in 1972 by Raymond Gubbay to perform in the increasing number of his concerts presented in London concert halls.
Crouch End Festival Chorus
Crouch End Festival Chorus is one of the UK’s leading symphonic choirs. Based in north London, it was founded in 1984 by David Temple and John Gregson. David has remained as music director ever since, shaping the choir’s progress as it has built a fine reputation in the UK and internationally.
With some 150 singers on its books, CEFC is known for its versatility and eclectic repertoire, ranging from the traditional classical works to modern and specially commissioned pieces. The Chorus promotes its own concerts at major venues such as the Barbican Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London, while also celebrating its local roots with performances in north London.
