Step back in time to the romance of the Jazz Age at London’s award-winning pop-up 1920s speakeasy, with live jazz, cabaret and cocktails in a secret venue filled with candles, where everyone dresses the part.
Like a lot of folk in the 1920s, we're not about to let Prohibition spoil Christmas! So we'll be celebrating the season of goodwill by candlelight at a secret tinsel-toned party where the jingling of sleigh bells will mingle with the clinking of cocktail glasses, where for one night the cop and the gangster will lay down their Tommy guns and share a toast.
Live music will come from Benoit Viellefon and his band with hosting by Santa’s little helper, Champagne Charlie, burlesque from Jolie Papillon on Friday and Bonnie Fox on Saturday, plus vintage vinylism from DJs the Bee’s Knees.
In a side room our tarot reader Lucius will be on hand to glimpse into your future and Michelle Krausz will be offering sparkling delights at her pop-up vintage jewellery shop.
There will also be a complimentary dance lesson from George of the Black Tie Ballroom Club. On Saturday it will be in the Balboa, and on Friday in 1920s foxtrot, assisted by Caitlin Heasman, a semi finalist in the international Latin dance championship this summer.
You can come just for drinks and dancing, or you can also reserve a table with Champagne, or book the three-course dinner. Ticket-holders receive an email two days before revealing the secret location (which is close to a tube station).
Benoit Viellefon et son Orchestre
Benoit Viellefon is a French crooner a la mode vintage. He created his orchestra in London England to perform the gorgeous ballroom dance music that was played in Europe, Cuba, Russia and the USA during the 1920s to the early 1950s. The orchestra, made of nothing but internationally renown musicians from France, Great Britain and Jamaica is rapidly establishing a fearsome reputation for its truly amazing live performance with dancers, lovers and listeners.

Champagne Charlie
CHAMPAGNE! Charlie was born in a wine cellar on a crate of champagne and has been singing since ’dear mother’ weened him on his first bottle of bubbles aged 2 and a half. Charlie has been singing in some of London's glittering nightspots and cruising - the Caribbean that is - from theatres to festivals, where he has performed on many a shoddy erection! So come spend a night with Charlie. CHAMPAGNE!
