Bristol born Will Gregory is best known for being keyboard player/composer/ one half of electronic music duo Goldfrapp, who achieved critical and commercial success in the 2000s, and particularly for their 2003 album ‘Black Cherry’. But Goldfrapp was not Gregory’s first foray into the world of popular music. Since the 1980s has toured and recorded with the likes of Tears for Fears, The Cure, Portishead and Tori Amos. He formed Goldfrapp in 1999 with Alison Goldfrapp. In 2005 Gregory formed his Moog Ensemble, which employs synthesizers and electronic instruments to create new sounds and reinvent old ones. With a lineup including composer Graham Fitkin and Portishead’s Adrian Utley, the ensemble perform a mixture of specially composed music, transcriptions of classical works, and their own versions of music from popular culture and film scores. Gregory has also collaborated on several occasions with The British Paraorchestra.
