About the show

The Comedy Arcade: competitive anecdotes game returning for its fourth year. Vix Leyton holds a bingo ball of surprise subjects and invites four brilliant comedians to spar with never-before-told stories, from the hilarious to the scandalous, to win points awarded by host and audience. 'Lives up to its billing likening it to a fabulous dinner party. Punters feel they are among spontaneously funny friends rather than hearing well-rehearsed professional anecdotes. We know these stories – and this particular alchemy will not be repeated again' **** (Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk).

Jim Smallman appearing at this event

Jim Smallman

Best Debut Show Nominee - Leicester Comedy Festival Awards 2009. Jim is an amusingly tattooed, manic depressive former child prodigy with tall tales of his wrongness coming out of his ears. And yet he used to be so nice...what on earth happened? This is his story so far. Jim has performed in Singapore, Denmark and Los Angeles as well as all over the UK. His stories are brutally honest, always true, and often unbelievable - and have won him an army of fans all over the world. 'Wonderfully gritty... his struggles with mental illness and alcoholism make for impressive comic pickings' (The Guardian) 'It's obvious that Jim Smallman is a natural-born compere. He has such an easy rapport with the audience and tells his tales with a fluidity and energy that keeps everyone attentive' (Chortle) 'Jim Smallman is not just a comic who tells brilliant jokes, he is a heart-warming storyteller, and his experiences will have you captivated and laughing out loud' (Three Weeks).
