About the show
Picky New Promotions are proud to present noisy French shoegazers MIDSCALE at The Big Difference in Leicester on Wed, May 13.
In just five years, Midscale has become a leading name in the French shoegaze scene, standing as a bulwark against the genre's uniformity. With their debut EP in 2022, followed by their album Movements in 2024, the Parisian quartet made a name for themselves by opening for Foxing, The Telescopes, Pale Blue Eyes, GIFT, and most notably Explosions In The Sky at the Bataclan in Paris. International exposure also embraced them, with several UK tours already under their belt and appearances at The New Colossus festival in New York in March and Left Of The Dial in Rotterdam in October of this year.
This year brings a brand new EP. 'Dread, This Could Save You' strikes while the iron is hot. Produced under the guidance of Clément Libes (BRUIT ?, M83, Bigflo & Oli), this project feels like a detour towards a certain liberation from the band’s genre label. Midscale is resolutely (post) rock here, albeit ever more dreamy and melancholic--a poignant four-track EP, the kind that leaves you stunned, even shaken, unable to think anything else other than "what a ride."
Support comes from Nottingham's own SPRING, Berlin shoegazers WIND MILE, and TBA.
Doors 7:00 pm. All ages allowed (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).
