Perfect Show for Rachel

This is Rachel’s perfect show. Every night, Rachel takes her place at the desk on stage, live-directing a cast of 13 professional performers, including Musical Director Chris Ash (Showstopper) and lead artist Lee Simpson (Improbable, Comedy Store Players).

Rachel’s desk has 50 buttons on it, and each one triggers something different – a scene, a song, a dance, a pub brawl, a drag act. Every performance is completely different, weaving music, movement and improvisation together under Rachel’s sharp direction. At its heart, this is a unique portrait of a woman rarely seen.

Rachel is Learning Disabled, and lives in a care home. Flo is her sister, and Artistic Director of Zoo Co. For Rachel to take the lead, and we mean actually take the lead, we had to throw out all the rules of traditional theatre-making and start again.
