A Grade II listed building, located in the heart of Leeds City Centre. Opened in 1865 and now one of only a handful of surviving British Music Halls. For 30 years from 1953 to 1983, City Varieties was the home of BBC TV's longest-running variety show – The Good Old Days which starred the cream of British TV stars, recreating the feel of an Edwardian music hall bill. In August 2011, the theatre re-launched following an award-winning £9.9m refurbishment to preserve this historically significant venue for future generations. The current programme features a lively mix of stand-up comedy, music and variety with a popular Rock n Roll Pantomime at Christmas and two seasons of The Good Old Days stage show each year. City Varieties…for the intimate big gig.
Capacity: 467 seated.
