Following on from the success of the Celebrating Irving Berlin concert, we now hear the music of Jerome Kern (1885 - 1945), an American composer of musical theatre and poular music. Kern wrote more than 700 songs, used in over 100 stage works and films. Presented by mezzo Sarah Shorter, tenor Christian Schneeberger with pianist Derek Clark, this features his life story told in words and songs, including I?m Old-Fashioned, You Were Never Lovelier, They Didn?t Believe Me, Bill, Look for the Silver Lining, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and several more melodies to hum along to and to get your toes tapping!
