About the show

Gabriel Moreno returns with his Quivering Poets to Hartlepooll, in early Spring, making it his eighth time on Friday 17 April at The Fisherman’s Arms.

Since June 2023 he has played three venues across three years, sold this room out before and keeps choosing to come back. At this point he is more than a visiting artist. He has quietly become one of our own. An adopted son and now a certified Monkey Hanger.

If you have been to one of these nights you already know the atmosphere. Flamenco coloured guitar, sharp lyrics, dark humour and moments of real tenderness. Songs of love, passion and resistance delivered with fire and grace.

Gabriel’s shows are not just a gig. They are a gathering.

There is also something rare tucked into this tour. A previously unheard lyric by Leonard Cohen, written over thirty years ago for Anjani Thomas and later immortalised in paint by Robert Montgomery, has now been set to music by Gabriel Moreno. It is being performed on this tour with the full blessing of the Cohen estate.

The Fisherman’s Arms and Hartlepool will be part of that story.
