About the show
Chad Strentz & The Chadillacs play The Oast, Rainham on Saturday 10th October 2026 — a night celebrating the Chuck Berry Centenary, alongside originals and classic R'n'B. Chuck Berry would have turned 100 on 18th October.
Chad Strentz has been at the top of the British blues scene for over two decades. Best known as lead vocalist with the multi-award-winning Paul Lamb & the King Snakes, where he spent twenty-eight years and picked up numerous British Blues Awards including UK's Best Blues Band, he has also fronted The Big Town Playboys and put the miles in with Shout Sister Shout, Cat Talk and Breakout Blues. He has shared stages with Jeff Beck, Jools Holland, Pinetop Perkins, Lazy Lester, Ray Gelato and Otis Grand.
Since 2024 he has performed the role of Chuck Berry in Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll, a theatrical production dedicated to the life and music of the man who invented rock and roll — a part that demands not just the voice and the guitar chops but the full presence of the man himself.
The Chadillacs are a powerhouse lineup of some of Europe's most experienced blues and rock and roll musicians, covering everything from deep shuffle to rollicking rock and roll.
BBC Radio Suffolk's Stephen Foster called Strentz "a vocal tour de force from a man whose time has finally come."
The Oast sits beside Rainham station, built in the 1870s. Top room. Parking at the rear.
Doors 7pm. £20 advance, £25 on the door.

Chad Strentz started out as a rockabilly hound at the age of 15. He enjoyed success on this circuit until he got together with Paul Lamb in 1991 and they toured extensively together with The King Snakes. His voice, and guitar playing, blends blues, soul, rockabilly and more.
