About the show
Gravedancer with Kenan Flannery were one of the highlights of this years Country Cantina Festival , so we have got both back together to do a one-off club show for us. They are seriously good singer/songwriters & together they are ridiculously funny ... plus we have - John & Bernard's new trio The Hollow.
Gravedancer - “"Arkansas's finest dark, brooding and going-straight-to-hell modern country singer/songwriter.....a gravel-throated diamond of a voice alongside a menacing aura of danger " Saving Country Music
Kenan Flannery - is a 27-year-old award-winning folk songwriter from Dublin, praised for his “bone-breakingly beautiful” music and a voice with the intensity of “a hundred Irish poets.” Blending his upbringing of Irish ballads with American folk influences, he’s been compared to John Prine and Townes Van Zandt.
The Hollow are a relatively new trio featuring the classy local singer/songster John Nellist with fiddle maestro Bernard Wright & mean mellow cello'man Ben Harrison.
Featuring - Gravedancer
'Hailing from the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas, I'm traveling the world to lyrically dump out my purse in public. Sometimes on my lonesome, sometimes with the backing band of some friends who are far more talented than me.'
Kenan Flannery
Hailing from Dublin, Kenan Flannery is a songwriter for the damned and the broken. With a voice that hits with the intensity of a hundred Irish poets and a sound rooted in the raw authenticity of the folk tradition, Kenan weaves the storytelling legacy of The Dubliners with the grit of Townes Van Zandt and John Prine.
