SWANHUNT is the result of a mission that has bridged two centuries. Way back in the haze of the mid-90’s the nucleus of this band were gigging their hearts out and baring their souls via these songs to everyone and anyone who would listen. In an English music scene that was swamped with Britpop it wasn’t always easy for the band’s harder edge to be heard but the band always had belief in the songs and music they were creating. However, the rich complexity of life then intervened and meant the band took an unplanned hiatus…until now. At a recent catch-up, the realisation that the intervening decades hadn’t diluted the belief in the quality of the songs meant that the wheels were put in motion to record the album ‘Spaced Out Tales’. Have a listen yourself and see if you can add to the long list of influences that others have said they can hear in their sound. Whether you find a touch of The Manics with a twist of Thin Lizzy there is one common theme amongst the music – they are all songs. If it can’t live life on its own with just an acoustic guitar as company, then it doesn’t get the full band treatment.…
