Ormella at The Archangel, Frome
About the show
Ormella creates songs that combine haunting low-register vocals, cinematic folk arrangements and brutally honest songwriting, Her music explores heartbreak, betrayal and self-reclamation with remarkable vulnerability. But alongside the darkness is wit, warmth and a disarming sense of humour that shines through her live performances.
Join us for an intimate evening with one of the most distinctive new voices in contemporary folk.
There is very limited seating available, so early booking is advised.
Featuring - Ormella

Selling out her first head-line with not one song released, it is clear that Ormella is able to leave London audiences wanting more, and more. Having previously lent her unmistakably soulful voice to the classic analogue synthesiser sounds and reverb-drenched guitars in the atmospheric pop band, Takk, she now, as a solo artist, pushes her sound into a more intimate and experimental space. Her self-proclaimed influences including - Fiona Apple, Florence Welch and Haley Heyndrickx are alive in her song-writing and sound as an artist, with melodies woven into a sound you haven’t quite heard before. It’s hard to disagree with Pretty in Noise who described her voice as ‘a lighthouse in Sound’.
