Folkestone is the world’s first music town, so it’s appropriate for the Big World Festival to reflect on how a little place like ours can present a wider range of cultural traditions in music, and how the local music scene can serve all our local communities. Venues find it hard to take risks and perhaps lack the networks, while in bound touring is at an all-time low nationally: what are some solutions to diversify our musical offer?
