The Matt Wates Sextet

The Matt Wates Sextet are an awardwinning, contemporary hard bop jazz band. Matt Wates states quite candidly that his aim is to come up with music that's 'fun to play', with the aim that it will also be fun to listen to. He certainly succeeds as each song has is own individual flavour, are crisply arranged and beautifully played. While each member is a superb soloist, together the band produces a vibrant and original sound.
