X-Fest is back for 2025! The festive celebration of original live music is KU's last original gig of the year and it makes a long-awaited return featuring four top up-and-coming acts.
ARKAYLA
ARKAYLA is an indie band from Manchester. Since emerging in 2023, they have earned substantial tastemaker support from BBC Radio 6 Music (Guy Garvey, Cerys Matthews), Radio X, XS Manchester, CLASH, Wonderland, and 1883 Magazine, while sharing stages with Andy Goodwin, Seb Lowe and The Lathums.

Casino
Casino are the b*stard sons of Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding. 'Back In The Day', their debut single is a riot of classic Motown and Stax mixed with a liberal dash of northern soul, funk and a strong streak of fresh, danceable, irresistible Liverpool melody. Dillon, the band's singer, has a voice straight out of a Memphis Mississippi gravel pit. A most rare combination of a band with tunes, melodies, danceable songs, a stormin' rhythm section and a voice which could easily have been born in Muscle Shoals. Surrender to the rhythm of classic R n' B southern style, rock n roll with class.
