Canada's premier soul-rock powerhouse returns to The Old Brewery Store, Faversham on Wednesday 27th January 2027, after a roof-raising debut at the venue last November.
Hailing from Toronto, Bywater Call are a Southern soul and roots rock seven-piece — guitar, bass, drums, keys, trumpet and tenor sax — fronted by the extraordinary Meghan Parnell, whose voice moves from gut-wrenching intimacy to full-throttle gospel fire. Drawing on The Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Otis Redding, Little Feat and Sly & the Family Stone, they don't so much play music as channel it.
They have been nominated for the UK Blues Award for International Blues Artist of the Year in two consecutive years, alongside Beth Hart and Walter Trout. In a single year they played over 140 shows across ten countries, appeared on Joe Bonamassa's Keeping the Blues Alive cruise, and took the stage at the Netherlands' BOSPOP Festival alongside The Black Keys, Marcus King and Blackberry Smoke.
Their studio album Shepherd was named Blues Album of the Year by Classic Rock Magazine, and their 2025 live album Sunshine arrived to unanimous rave reviews. Blues Matters called them a living, breathing testament to what happens when a band catches fire, led by a vocalist who doesn't just perform but preaches the blues.
The Old Brewery Store sits within the Shepherd Neame brewery site, Britain's oldest working brewery, founded 1698. Capacity 250.

Meghan Parnell and Dave Barnes are the driving force behind Bywater Call, a powerhouse 7-piece Southern Soul, Roots Rock band out of Toronto, Canada.
Since Bywater Call was formed in 2017, they have been Maple Blues and Independent Blues Award nominated and have made waves in the Canadian Festival Circuit. The band has also had the opportunity to extensively tour Europe, including most recently in May and June of 2022, featuring a mainstage appearance at the Netherlands’ premiere blues festival, Moulin Blues. Performances there have been praised in Dutch and German media, with references to Meghan as one of the best singers in blues and roots today.
